Introduction

The project deals with educating students of the environmental problems facing our planet and the steps for their solutions as outlined in the Agenda 21 and confirmed at The Johannesburg Summit.
Objectives include increasing student knowledge and widening their horizons so they realise that we must act on the whole as a continent. There are no borders in nature we must tear down the national borders of our countries. We aim for students to become agents of environmental and social change by exchanging experiences with other European students.
A large spectrum of the cultural and social European reality is involved since the partners come from all corners of Europe.
The core subjects of the project are:

Planet Earth: everybody’s home.
Environment: Natural and Urban (pollution, waste, climatic change, the 4 Rs

Water and everything related to it: pollution, access, lack of, quality, etc:)

Energy (petroleum, electricity, renewable, etc)

Nutrition and health (we are what we eat- nutrition, diet, genetically modified food, etc)
Education for everybody.

At the crux of each the aforementioned is: Social and Economic Dimensions, Conservation and Management of Resources for sustainable Development and Means of Implementation.

We hope

to improve students’ knowledge of environment and conservation issues.
to build a student participative methodology that will be shared by the majority of our schools
to help students understand the equilibrium of nature and do the best for its safeguar
to create awareness of how the concepts of sustainability and solidarity are interlinked.
to help students realise that the stability of communities of living things depends upon diversit
to raise the influence of young people within our communities through their participation in local, regional, national activities and events
to learn and to teach how to reduce one’s impact on the natural environment
to involve and sensitize the whole school and local communities about the topics of the project.
To teach students that we all share a common future and to encourage cross-curricular ways of working
to promote co-operations among institutions of different European countries
